Loneliness Awareness Week.
It may be easier said than done to start the conversation about loneliness and to open up about how loneliness may be effecting you.
@marmalade_trust have a great blog post on https://www.marmaladetrust.org/talkingaboutloneliness which shares tips and ideas on how to change our language around loneliness and supportive ways to start a conversation.
How about today we start to say "I feel lonely" instead of "I am lonely". This encourages us to have more control over our loneliness as something we are experiencing right now rather than a constant state of being.

This week is Loneliness Awareness Week, hosted by the @marmalade_trust.
The last year has been a tough one and many more of us have experienced loneliness and maybe for the first time.
Loneliness exists and to feel and be lonely is okay, but it has a huge impact on our wellbeing and we need to be talking and raising awareness of the current shame and stigma surrounding it.
Let's break down barriers and open up the conversation!

As a volunteer lead project, we understand the importance and impact that volunteers play in providing the service we offer and carrying out our core mission: To intercept food waste destined for landfill and use it to feed people who need it, on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis.
Delivering, driving, collecting, sorting, weighing, cooking, serving, cleaning, food prepping you name it, our volunteers do it! The passion, time and energy that each volunteer brings to the project is inspiring and breath-taking and we would be nowhere without them. THANK YOU!
Get in contact through our social media channels or cafes if you are interested in volunteering with us. We love to hear from anyone who has hours to spare and wants to do something which is a true act of kindness for oneself and the community.
