Patrons
The Real Junk Food Project Brighton would like to offer a patron scheme to all our supporters.
Every year we are growing, as is the need for our service, but unfortunately our café donations do not cover even a quarter of our running costs and we have to work very hard catering events to try and make up the shortfall.
We remain ever faithful to our ‘Pay as you Feel’ concept and will continue to welcome everyone, regardless of their social status or ability to donate financially.
However, we need to stress that the food and the service we provide is not ‘free’. There is no such thing. All food has huge attendant costs; water, resources, fuel and labour have gone into growing, transporting, refrigerating and packaging it and it’s criminal that it still finds its way into a bin.
Equally after we intercept this food, it costs us in time, labour and fuel to collect, sort, weigh and prepare it and turn it into healthy, nutritious meals.
We would like to propose a ‘Pay as you Feel’, pay it forward idea, like suspended coffees. Some of you are fortunate enough to be able to donate financially to our cause, and if you are able to pay for somebody else’s meal, via a regular monthly donation, you will be helping us to continue the great work we do in the community.
As reward for a ‘Pay as you Feel’ monthly donation (starting at £5), we will offer an annual Patrons’ feast, where we will thank you all with some great food and an evening of celebration. In addition, with your permission, we would like to thank you publicly on our website and Facebook page, but you can, of course, choose to remain anonymous.
Please see our donate button either on our website or on Facebook and give what you can, supporting us to support our communities.
